TruGreen Three Counties Completes London to Paris Tandem Bike Ride for Meningitis Now

TruGreen Three Counties has helped raise vital funds for Meningitis Now after taking part in a four-day tandem bike ride from London to Paris alongside Quayside Wealth Management and other local businesses.

The challenge raised £14,000 from the bike ride alone, supporting Meningitis Now, the UK charity dedicated to fighting meningitis and helping those affected rebuild their lives.

For TruGreen Three Counties, which provides professional lawn care across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, the ride was about more than distance. It was about community, teamwork and using a local business voice to support a cause that matters.

A four-day challenge from London to Paris

The London to Paris tandem bike ride brought together a group of local businesses for four days of long distances, sore legs and plenty of determination.

It was not a smooth ride. Across the journey, the group faced snapped chains, flat tyres, lost gears, heavy rain, tough hills and challenging surfaces. At one point, one tandem looked almost finished before a few tools, patience and quick thinking got it moving again.

By the final stretch into Paris, the riders were tired, caught in a torrential downpour and navigating the city without sat nav. Still, the team kept going and completed the challenge together.

Meningitis Now does incredibly important work helping people affected by meningitis rebuild their lives, so getting involved felt like the right thing to do.”

Reflecting on the challenge, Mike added:

“It was four days of hard work, sore legs and problem-solving on the move. We had bike issues, difficult roads, rain and a final ride into Paris that none of us will forget. But crossing the finish line together and knowing the ride had raised £14,000 made it all worth it. It was a brilliant reminder of what local businesses can achieve when they come together.”

Supporting Meningitis Now

Meningitis Now provides information and support for people affected by meningitis across the UK, including emotional, practical and financial support.

The money raised through the tandem ride will help support the charity’s work and continue raising awareness of a condition that can affect families very quickly.
